Christoph Partsch represents clients in small and midsized merger & acquisition transactions, especially in the following industry segments: media, new technology, medical devices and solar energy. He also advises on international license and distributorship agreements.
Moreover, Christoph has extensive expertise with respect to all compliance related matters, in Germany and elsewhere. He has recently been appointed by the City of Berlin as its Ombudsman for corruption cases. He is the founding member of the Society for Compliance (German Chapter) and the German Freedom of Information Society.
Christoph started his professional career as legal advisor to the German privatization agency „Treuhand“ and renegotiated successfully the treaty with Elf Aquitaine regarding the sale of the East German refinery industry. He has served for four years as Vice President of the German media group Holtzbrinck, owner of Macmillan Ltd. and St. Martin’s Press, and has a considerable track record selling and acquiring media startups as well as newspaper and biotech companies. He has founded his own law firm in Berlin in 1998 and has become counsel to Bloch & Partner in 2012.
After studies in Freiburg, Geneva and Kiel, Christoph has received his law degree from the State of Berlin (Germany). He is admitted to the bar in Germany. He completed his education with an LL.M. program at the Duke University school of law. Christoph has written his doctoral thesis with the former German secretary of justice Prof. Schmidt-Jortzig on Freedom of Information.
Christoph speaks German, English, French, Italian and some Spanish.
